Sited atop a hill on a removed site surrounded by trees, The Tukwila Birth to Kindergarten Center provides a direct connection to outdoor learning areas with views the woods to the north, and views of the Cascades to the east. Made up of kindergarten, pre-k, and early learning departments, the core of the building also contained a multi-use space for school, parent, and community use. 

As the design lead for the project from predesign to design development, my role included producing several early layouts, sketches and physical models, resolving the final layout with building massing, coordinating structural and mechanical layouts with the massing and facade, and articulating the tectonics of the building through materiality studies and selection.
