Lateral Section
Located on two narrow Chicago lots, this facility houses a ceramics manufacturing space as well as gallery and teaching spaces. Industrial lifts connect the manufacturing process between all levels while the angled facade allows tall manufacturing areas to morph into double height manufacturing and studio areas. Due to the site limitations and the nature of ceramics manufacture, different processes occur on individual levels connected by process specific lifts.
